Pupils will prepare a model for the Zebras' house

Ērgļu vocational school in cooperation with the Ministry of Environment protection and regional development and Latvian board of sustainable construction organize a contest for pupils "ECOSOLIS - for sustainable construction" already for a second year,www.ecosolis.lv. In the closing of the contest teams of pupils will have a task to make a model for the Zebras' house in Riga Zoo.

Exhibition Eight eights in the Latvian Architecture museum

The exhibition will be opened on the 3rd of February at 18:00 in the Lavian Architecture museum in M.Pils street 19, Riga. The project was first shown as a part of ‘Borders of architecture 2: housing’, an exhibition at the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art in Denmark (June 1st to October 2nd, 2011). The idea of the project is to propose eight variations on the 8HOUSE (a residential complex by BIG architects of Copenhagen) for eight cities in the Baltic region.
RTU APF diploma works' exhibition

In the exhibition hall of Galeria Riga (6'th floor), Dzirnavu street 67, Riga, on the 26'th of January, 2012 an exhibition of young architects' diploma projects "1938+... days journey from the entrance examination to the diploma" will be opened. Opening of the exhibition at 16:00, the ceremony of diplomas at 17:30.
RTU International summer school - 10 year

Riga Technical University International Summer School is an annual two week course for students of architecture, urbanism, landscape design, geography, fine arts and social sciences. It attracts mainly those in the beginning of their studies wanting to improve their theoretical knowledge and practical skills in analysis and design of urban environments. The course is an opportunity to test new research and design approaches in a summery atmosphere, working in an international and multidisciplinary team. More here.

In the European Regional development foundation's financed project "The revitalization of the degradated area in Maskavas, Krasta and Turgeņeva street" the technical project is developed and coordinated for the revitalization of the degradated area in Maskavas, Krasta and Turgeņeva street or the so-called revitalization of the degraded area of Spīķeru quarter.The contest for the realization of this project will be announced in the near future.
Indra Ķempe donates the edition Liepājiņa to the LAA library

The opening of the edition “Liepājiņa” took place in Riga, on the 12’th of January, 2012 in the book shop LUKABUKA in the premises of the shop RIJA. The book Liepājiņa, written by more than 100 co-authors, about the urban environment of Liepāja is an important contribution to the display of the reading material on architecture in Latvian and will serve as a documentary source of information about the situation of Liepāja’s urban environment. The manager of the project, the author of the idea, the editor of the edition “Liepājiņa” - architect Indra Ķempe. In the opening event of the edition one of the copy was donated to the LAA library.

The operation principles of Thüringen’s chamber of architects

During the realization of the LAS administrative capacity building project from the 28th of November, 2011, a seminar "The role of the chamber of Architects and Engineers in the regulation of the professional and construction process" in the House of Architects was organised with a guest speaker the Thüringen’s (Germany) Chamber of Architects president Dipl.-Ing. Hartmut Strube. The operating principle of chambers, combining in a professional organization one industry specialists, in the time is planned to be implemented in Latvia as well.
