Competition Elektrum Drive charging stations

Latvenergo announces an international open sketch design competition for the development of the concept of charging stations for the electric vehicle charging brand Elektrum Drive.

In 2023, the charging network available at Elektrum Drive increased by 69% and became the largest charging network in the Baltics with more than 400 publicly accessible ports. The plans for 2024 are even more ambitious - it is planned to reach the number of 800 public ports in the Baltics, including the construction of the first high-power areas with a charging capacity of 300 kW. By the end of year 2025 more than 65 such high-power charging stations with 4 ports in each will be built in Latvia and Estonia.

The purpose of the competition is to develop a unified concept design program for high-power charging stations, which includes various landscaping elements defined in the competition materials - roof, illuminated pylon, benches, etc.

The total prize fund of the competition is EUR 14 750.00. A contract agreement with the amount of EUR 10,000.00 will be concluded with the winner of the competition.

The competition is organized in several rounds, where:

  • In the Round 1, a project proposal is submitted with 3 sketch designs, as drawings or visualizations, and a description of functionality according to the 3 types of electric vehicle charging stations defined in the Project Description;
  • In the Round 2, the technical and economic indicators of the meta-offer are submitted for the 6 design and landscaping elements defined in the sketch design Competition Brief.

The duration of the competition is from February 9 th to May 13 th, 2024.

Submission of Round 1 designs is open until April 2 nd , 2024 at 17:00 in the electronic procurement system LEIS.
