Strengthening of administrative capacity
On 1 December 2010, the Latvian Association of Architects began work on the project
"Strengthening the Administrative Capacity of the Latvian Association of Architects"
The aim of the project – to create a set of laws and regulations which would increase the efficiency of LAA’s administrative system and would give permanent authorisation to perform all activities related to the assignment of a right to professional practice, its monitoring and supervision of continuous professional development of architects, would determine the responsibility for awarding the qualification, maintaining of criteria and improvement of qualification in architecture.
The target group of the project – qualified architects working in Latvia. The administrative model for adapting the professional standards of Latvian architects to the current EU standards of the industry will be developed as part of the project.
The main activities of the project – related to the elaboration of the required laws and regulations, study of international practice and exchange of experience with partners from the EU member states.
In spring 2011, the project application was submitted to the competition organised by the Social Integration Fund for open selection of project applications in the framework of the programme “Human Resources and Employment”, for sub-activity No 1.5.2.2.2 “Strengthening the Administrative Capacity of Non-governmental Organisations”. The financing has been allocated to our project by the decision of the Social Integration Fund.
The European Union via the European Social Fund funds 93% of the project. The process is administrated by the State Chancellery in cooperation with the Social Integration Fund.
