Central library in Ogre

Library Project attempts to create a very place-specific, modern and multi-functional public center for the local people and visitors. Inspiration for the character of the building comes from the early 20th century resort-town period timber summer houses with wooden facades and large sloped metal roofs. Library is designed as a zero-energy building, made of exposed laminated timber structures and equipped with wide variety of advanced resource saving Technologies, which can be monitored by visitors. It is a holistic approach Project where architecture and sustainability can’t be separated.
