The building in Kuģu street 13 was built in 1902 and designed byWilhelm Hofman. At first the ground floor was re-constructed and the main engineering systems were re-built, followed by the remaining floors and elevations. The typical floor plans (1-4) consist of apartments, garages, bicycle storage, room for garbage collection and storage spaces. The elevators in the courtyard ensure accessibility for all people The main emphasis in the design of the roof extension was to preserve the simplicity of the existing building. The existing load bearing constructions of the building were preserved.
