GRAVEYARD CHAPEL IN JUMPRAVA - new build
Built on the location of former timber building, considering restricted building site within existing graveyard.
Minimalistic style building consists of two volumes- mourning hall and auxiliary rooms joint by passage which symbolises traditional graveyard gates and forms entry into silent kingdom.
The biggest succes of the project is restoration of the historic bell and integration in the building as well as wide use of local building materials.
LĀČPLĒSIS GRAVEYARD CHAPEL - restoration
Building completed in 1977. according to the project designed by Architect Aina Šēnberga. The building consisting of several tent-shaped volumes forms a part of building complex, which has been
constructed in various times and styles. The result of restoration is united color scheme and completely renewed interior in the chapel building, reconstruction of the premises to seperate
axiliary rooms, resolved rainwater drainage solutions to direct rainwater away from the foundations.
