Heart of Hanza is a perimeter-block residential development in the city centre, located between Riga's historic urban fabric and its emerging new development districts. The project transforms a long-neglected vacant site into a dense, green, pedestrian-oriented urban environment. The building is articulated into four volumes, reducing its perceived scale to match the proportions of Riga's historic city blocks. Their arrangement creates sunlit, landscaped courtyards free of vehicular traffic, while an open, active street frontage revitalises the previously inactive block edge.
