The building has been made by embracing what’s already there, honestly using raw materials, not straining existing structure. Circular construction techniques were used to make the most of available and new resources. The Children’s Museum continues the idea of restoring circulation—the bloodstream—within historic space, showing the building as a living organism and an extension of the body. Drains, power supply and low-voltage systems are displayed; ventilation represents the lungs, visitor flow follows a concrete strip around the house, while the interior reveals the imprints of its making.
