Seasonality – adapted urban planning in Vidzeme cities: Master’ s thesis.
The master’s thesis studies the development of urban planning theories. To enable the adaptation of public open space infrastructure for seasonal use, qualitative seasonal urban planning approaches are defined. Within the scope of the thesis, criteria were developed and analyzed the specific landscape spaces in Vidzeme cities—Valmiera, Cēsis, Smiltene, and Limbaži. The thesis presents seasonality-based urban planning guidelines for the management of high-quality public open spaces.
