The timber kindergarten in Salaspils or 7th preschool educational institution is a two—story public building, where structures and solutions visible in the building are the authors' response to the main challenges of current construction: how to build economically, planet—friendly and safely. Excellent energy efficiency, low—emission and recycled materials, the building's CO2 footprint is significantly lower than in standard construction, as well as materials that are as harmless as possible to children's health indoors, with low emissions of volatile organic compounds and no toxic components.
