Zilākalns Observation Tower and Health Trail are located in a Natura 2000 area. The 35 m tower has a self-supporting steel shell with vertical wooden beams from 6.3 m height for better integration into the forest landscape. A 15.84 m high circular viewing platform surrounds the tower. The core is illuminated with blue lights at night. The 3.4 km health trail includes 12 stopping stations.
