Atklātā arhitektūras metu konkursa „Studentu mājokļu kompleksa jaunbūve Ernesta Birznieka-Upīša ielā 19, Rīgā” rezultāti
SIA „EBU 19”, respektējot Rīgas vēsturiskā centra saglabāšanas un aizsardzības likuma 14. panta prasību, 2017. gada septembra beigās izsludināja atklātu arhitektūras metu konkursu “Studentu mājokļu kompleksa jaunbūve Ernesta Birznieka-Upīša ielā 19, Rīgā” ar mērķi iegūt arhitektoniski labāko projekta priekšlikumu norādītajam apbūves gabalam.
Noteiktajā laikā 8. decembrī tika iesniegti 10 darbi. Izskatot tos, žūrija vienojās, ka ir viens labākais projekts. Tā arhitektūras kvalitāte visprecīzāk atspoguļo pasūtītāja uzdevumu un visveiksmīgāk iederas Rīgas vēsturiskajā pilsētvidē. Žūrijā strādāja: Latvijas Arhitektu savienības pārstāvis, arhitekts Juris Poga, VKPAI Arhitektūras daļas vadītāja vietniece, arhitekte Marina Levina, Rīgas pilsētas Būvvaldes Arhitektu un teritorijas plānotāju nodaļas galvenā arhitekte-teritorijas plānotāja Dace Celmiņa, sertificēti arhitekti Uldis Balodis un Juris Mitenbergs, pasūtītāja pārstāvji Jason Allen un Evija Kuļevska.
Rezultātā par pirmās vietas ieguvēju vienbalsīgi atzīts darbs ar devīzi DAV159 un tā autori arhitektu birojs MJP Architects Ltd, Nick Caulkett, Nikola Enchev, Korneliusz Keller, Liz Pride, Michael Ritchie, Lielbritānija.
Otrā un trešā vieta netika piešķirtas, taču tika nolemts kopējo otrās un trešās vietas prēmiju fondu sadalīt proporcionāli vienādās daļās starp šādiem trīs darbiem (piešķirot 2000,- eiro katram): “DEPO projekts” (darbs DOM111), Sandra Paulsone, Uldis Zanders, piedalījās Ginta Eglīte, Anita Rauda Žukovska, Kristaps Briģis, Mikus Grende; “Avotiņš, Vincents un partneri” (darbs UBE910), Jānis Ielejs un pārstāvji no “R.E.D. arhitekti”, “A plus solution”, “A.R.T. projekts” (darbs SMK017) - Viktors Zarakovskis, Antons Gonda, Andris Tomsons.

1. vieta – darbs ar devīzi DAV159 (arhitektu birojs MJP Architects Ltd, Nick Caulkett, Nikola Enchev, Korneliusz Keller, Liz Pride, Michael Ritchie, Lielbritānija)

Results of the open architectural sketch design competition „Newly-built student housing complex at Ernesta Birznieka-Upisa street 19 in Riga”
At the end of September, 2017, following the requirement laid down in Clause 14 of the Law on Preservation and Protection of Riga Historic Centre, „EBU 19” LLC announced an open architectural sketch design competition „Newly-built student housing complex at Ernesta Birznieka-Upisa street 19 in Riga” with the aim to obtain best architectural design proposal for the specified land plot.
On the set deadline, which was December 8th, ten proposals were submitted. After having reviewed them, competition jury agreed that there was one best proposal among them. The proposal was most successful in terms of reflecting client’s task and harmoniously blending in with the Riga historic urban environment. The jury panel included: representative of the Latvian Association of Architects, architect Juris Poga, Deputy Head of the Architectural Division of the State Inspection for Heritage Protection, architect Marina Levina, Head architect and spatial planner of the Division of Spatial Planners of the Riga City Construction Board Dace Celmina, licenced architects Uldis Balodis and Juris Mitenbergs, client’s representatives Jason Allen and Evija Kulevska.
As a result, first prize was unanimously awarded to the entry with motto DAV159 and its authors - architecture firm MJP Architects Ltd., UK: Nick Caulkett, Nikola Enchev, Korneliusz Keller, Liz Pride, Michael Ritchie.
The second and third prizes were not awarded, however it was decided to recognize three other entries and to split the total prize money of second and third prizes in proportional amounts between the three entries (awarding EUR 2’000.00 each), which are as follows: „DEPO projekts” (proposal with motto DOM111): Sandra Paulsone, Uldis Zanders, Ginta Eglite, Anita Rauda Zukovska, Kristaps Brigis, Mikus Grende; „Avotins, Vincents un partneri” (proposal with motto UBE910): Janis Ielejs; and representatives from „R.E.D. Arhitekti”, „A plus solution”, „A.R.T. projekts” (proposal with motto SMK017): Viktors Zarakovskis, Antons Gonda, Andris Tomsons.
