MANUAL: Urban Sports and Architecture

MANUAL was a series of events and a provocation in public space, during which guest lectures by architecture theorists and practitioners, documentary film screenings, and a photo exhibition were held in the House of Architects, followed by constructing a skatepark in the Old town. This triggered an exchange of thoughts between a wider society and professionals about the significance and place of urban sports in Riga. The events concluded with an open debate between athletes and representatives of the City Council. Notes of the events and final discussions were submitted to Riga’s Sustainable Development Strategy 2030.
