The ensemble of Kalpaka Street has always been an important place in the life of Kuldīga since the mid 19th century. In 2015, when the building became the property of the city again, Kuldīga Municipality announced a design competition in order to choose the most suitable architectural solution for the renovation of the buildings and surrounding territory. The building will house an international masters study programme. The facade of the building was restored, the volume of the glazed veranda on the side of the building yard was added and the territory adjacent to the building was landscaped.
