Salaspils camp memorial new exposition

Salaspils camp memorial is one of the most outstanding Latvian Cultural Canon architecture and art synthesis objects. In 2017 memorial building was renovated and new expositions were placed inside former technical spaces. The expositions are based on real history of the camp and also a story about memorial building from contest to opening in 1967. The main task when renovating memorial was to preserve as much of the time patina as possible. The expositions are made with a respect to existing building and its interior. Authors are architect Līga Gaile, historian Uldis Neiburgs, artist ģirts Boronovskis un curator and memorial museum director Zigmārs Gailis.
