2014 saw the restoration of the Rundale Palace ensemble finally completed, after 50 years of resolute and selfless work. Consistent implementation of professional restoration methods – not just conservation of the original substance and ornamentation, but comprehensive renovation of the interior returning it as close to its original condition as possible, including the manufacture of wallpaper, stocking with furniture and art works in line with the original function of each room – has seen the European cultural space regain an outstanding 18th century Baroque and Rococo architectural and artistic monument, complemented by the renewed palace gardens – a unique example of Baroque garden art.
