R.Schmeling conference 'Should the old town of Riga morph over time'
Schmeling’s conference revisited the Old Town regeneration project (1976-1983) created by the team of architects and city-planners lead by Edgars Pučiņš - the first planning document to recognize the unique value of Old Town’s structure seeking feasible ways to renovate it. The Conference takes it as a starting point to analyse historic and modern strategies for reinstating the aesthetic qualities of the ensemble of Old Town Riga. A short documentary film was created and screened to kick-off the discussion of the renown academics, architects, students and the general public.
